Yes, she did. Then way to break the curse was if someone loved the cat, TRULY loved the cat. Unlike Shishou's grandmother, Tohru didn't pity Kyo. She truly loved and accepted him. And he loved her back. The cat is considered a "monster", so hopeless, pathetic, and terrifying to ever be loved. (According to the Sohmas) It seemed almost impossible to break the curse.

∙ 14y agoI believe by saying she cares about Kyo and that she wasn't lying like his mom was when she said she was actually afraid. And as for Akiko (sorry if I spelled it wrong), she said that he was alive then, and that he will be missed when he passes away. I think that by telling the truth, truly caring about them, is how she broke the curse.
