The wavelength and frequency affect how the way is perceived. In sound it would affect the pitch that you hear, in the visible light spectrum it would affect what color you see. The amplitude would be how easy it is to perceive, it is the intensity (magnitude) of the wave.
Humans are able to hear infrasound, depending upon frequency and amplitude.
In case of mechanical waves, ie waves propagating through material medium the amplitude of the waves decides the intensity of the waves as intensity is directly proportional to the square of its amplitude. Pitch is related to the frequency of the wave. As pitch increases then in one second more number of waves would cross a particular point in the medium. If velocity of the wave in the medium remains constant, the wavelength gets reduced as the pitch increases.
12hz -20000 hz.
As you age you lose your ability to hear high frequency sounds first.

The amplitude is the volume, while the frequency is the pitch.
It depends on the type of animal. Dogs can hear a higher frequency than humans, which is the concept behind a dog whistle. Elephants can hear lower sounds than humans.

The carrier wave carries the information that you hear. It is modulated by the sound which varies its amplitude or frequency. Without the carrier there would be nothing to vary so you would hear nothing.
It is less loud. Frequency affects what we hear as pitch. Amplitude affects volume.
Both whales and elephants can hear extremely low frequency sounds.
No. There is a frequency range in which people can hear. Very high frequency or low frequency sounds are inaudible to us, but can be heard by some other creatures, like dogs for example.
12hz -20000 hz.
Most animals can, but dogs can definitely hear them.
