You can be just a day late depending on which test you purchase. If you buy one that advertises that on the box (forgive me I cannot remember the name of the test, but I have used it and got a positive at only one day late)you can use it as soon as you suspect that you may be. Knowing your cycle is crucial for this. Your best bet is to read all the boxes in the store - it will say how soon it can give you an accurate reading and remember you often get more than one test in the box)but if you'd rather not do your research in a drug store, go online and research the names of the ones that do a really early test and then you can just go and quickly pick up the one you want. If there is not enough hormones in your urine to test completely positive you may get either a negative or a mixed response but you would never get a positive unless it was true. False negatives could happen but not false positives. Good luck!

Pregnancy test results are very accurate ONE WEEK after you have missed a period, that is about 5-6 weeks into the pregnancy.

About a month, usually you are able to take a test and have it be 99% effective right around when you would have missed your period.

Usually there is something wrong with the test. It's best to try again with a new test.

Not usually. LH and HCG are similar and can be detected with an ovulation test. In short an ovulation test can be a substitute though not recommended for an early pregnancy test

store bought pregnancy tests say they show results about 4-5 days before a missed period.

A pregnancy test can show a positive result if you have miscarried. There is still enough hormone in your body to produce a positive result.

You may try the pregnancy test again, to ease your mind and just to be sure. But if you got a plus sign on your pregnancy test, chances are that you are pregnant. Not usually, you have to have the hormone in your system for a positive to show up. There are more false negatives than false positives.

No. That strip test becomes positive, usually After 7 days of menses and morning sample is to be used.(As urine is concentrated.) There are other tests witch can tell about pregnancy, a week before menses but are expensive.

You should read your directions in the pregnancy test package.

A pregnancy test can NOT be reused and it will not show a accurate answer.

User Avatar

Even if you didn't know you were pregnant but you were at least two weeks along, your pregnancy test will show up positive. But if you were less than two weeks along it will come out negative even if you do end up pregnant.

It's usually a pregnancy test

Usually 14 days post ovulation is a good time to test. Basically the day you expect to get your period is a good day. You will usually have enough hcg in your urine to turn the test positive.

About a week after the egg has been fertilized

If it was an ectopic pregnancy, you would still show positive on a pregnancy test. Do you have any other pregnancy symptoms? I would not consider pregnancy unless you feel you may be pregnant from some other sign.
