It depends on the wind and balloon payload. The smaller the payload, the higher the balloon may rise before it bursts. The balloon I helped launch landed close to 60 miles from the launch site.
Weather balloons can reach altitudes of 40 kilometers (about 25 miles).
My engineering class recently launched a weather balloon. The altitude it bursts at depends on how much helium you put in the balloon. Our balloon burst at 90000 feet.
mesosphere. This is the layer of the winds. Thermosphere is too high because that goes into space and straosphere is where the air planes fly so its right in between.
Visibility.
Weather travels because the wind pushes it slowly to other states, like hurricanes travel very quickly because they spin so fast but rain moves slower because rain clouds are heavy and full so it takes a while for the wind to push it that far!!!
It is mainly determined by the pressure and composition of the atmosphere as well as how far away from the earth it is.
they can travel for trillions of miles before raining down on the land
3,050
one mile.
A average hot air balloon can travel around 25 miles. But it all depends on how big it is and how much gas you have

As far as we know, there is no atmosphere on Haumea, meaning there is no weather and no storms.
How far a balloon could go into the atmosphere before it popsWhat type of light grows plants the bestHow much pollution does it take to completely kill an ocean plantWhy does weather only occur in the troposphere
Had a caller to a local radio show call in and said that she found a balloon in her yard in N.C. that was from Ellisville, MS. that's @500 miles
The volcanic dust thrown into the atmosphere affected the weather around the world, and people as far away as Britain and the United States saw bizarre red sunsets caused by particles in the atmosphere.
use a bigger balloon
No. There is almost no weather activity on Pluto as far as we know. Pluto only has a thin temporary atmosphere during its "summer" years, when the surface ice evaporates. In winter, there is no atmosphere.
as far as it wants to
As far as you like. For example it travels from the sun and gets through our atmosphere without much difficulty.
I think a water balloon can be tossed if the water balloon is filled lightly. If the water balloon is filled heavily it might break before someone catches it. Also I did this before and I measured it and it was 74 feet and 5 inches exactly!
