not to far
Michigan law states that to qualify as a moped, a vehicle must be 50cc or less, have an automatic transmission, and only be able to attain speeds of 30mph. Pitbikes almost all have gears, which disqualifies them, and they're all capable of going faster than 30mph. However, if you can find a SOS employee that will let you register it, then you're probably in the clear, as far as the police are concerned. A cop who's in a particularly bad mood (or if you're being a jerk to him or her) is perfectly justified to impound an improperly registered "moped", but..... I've never heard of it happening.

If you're gentle on driving, you get just about 400 miles per tank. Most people average about 350 miles per tank
