Timewise, a point in Manhattan to a point in Brooklyn could take anywhere from 5m to 2hrs drive, given the large size of BK n high traffic in Manhattan (Rush hour, it could be 3-5 hrs to get from Uptown to East New York)

The Bronx is directly north of Manhattan. The two boroughs are separated by a skinny stretch of river known as the Harlem River (which branches off of the Hudson River and flows down over the top of Manhattan and the bottom of the Bronx, and into the East River).

It depends where you are coming from in Manhattan, but the boroughs basically touch one another. It is possible to get from upper midtown to the Bronx in less than 10 miles.
