The distance of a three-point line is measured from the centre of the basket. For any high school or middle school gymnasium, the distance is 19.75 feet.
This may depend on the court/gym. Our school gym is small, and our three-point line is about 18 feet from the basket, and its about 3 feet from half court. Yea, its very tight. High-school 3 point lines are about 19.8 feet, and NBA 3 pointers are 23 feet.

The High School 3 point line is located exactly 6 feet behind the free throw line. NCAA adds 1 foot to that distance; in some cases, you may see the old and new line spaced 1 foot apart, and in contrasting a color, finally in the NBA the 3 point line is located 23 feet 9 inches or 4 feet directly in back of the free throw line. All of these 3 point lines radiate from the center of the goal to the out side of the arc.
