Firewall don't stop viruses it just keep ypu computer safe...
I mean when you run program, firewall will ask you if you let this program to run or not...
When virus try to run program secretly when you will not notice the program, but firewalll will tell you that some kind of program is runned, so you may block it and that will stp the virus.
only the antivirus software on stops the viruses.

∙ 11y agoA true Firewall can't protect you from viruses. A firewall selectivly blocks incoming connections. This is the primary way to protect yourself from hackers. Personal firewalls, which install onto your computer, block outgoing connections. This is helpful in stopping spyware from reporting your private information.
The only way a firewall protects you from viruses is by preventing a hacker from installing a virus on your computer.

∙ 11y agoBasically what an antivirus firewall does for your computer is maintain a list of known bad programs and applications and then prevents them from opening on your computer. Since we do not have access to the thousands upon thousands of malicious items that are out there, it is imperative to utilize one.

For PCs i don't suggest nortan anti viruse because it can block you from doing surtain things but if you are on the computer adminstrater you can turn it off. For MACs you don't need a firewall because MACs can't have viruses so far.
