How much would it cost to repair from a flood?

How about over a billion dollars in Cedar Rapids (where flooding affected 9.2 square miles--roughly 1/7th of the city) alone? City officials last night estimated the cost to clean up and repair or replace flood-damaged city buildings and other infrastructure at $504 million. In addition, the officials estimated that it would cost another $810 million to protect the city against future floods through an assortment of mitigation efforts like levees, floodwalls, a possible reservoir and property buyouts.City Manager Jim Prosser called the numbers "staggering."He spoke in billions: half a billion dollars for cleanup, repair and replacement; $1.3 billion in total including future flood protection.

How much is the maximum fee for a bad check in Illinois from the business the check was written to?

Unfortunately it looks like Illinois does not set a maximum amount that may be charged. The statute simply states $25.00, or for all costs and expenses. It looks as though they can charge more than $25.00 if they send you a letter demanding payment. Hope that helps. Look at Illinois statute: (810 ILCS 5/3‑806) (from Ch. 26, par. 3‑806) Sec. 3‑806. Any person who issues a check or other draft that is not honored upon presentment because the drawer does not have an account with the drawee, or because the drawer does not have sufficient funds in his account, or because the drawer does not have sufficient credit with the drawee, shall be liable in the amount of $25, or for all costs and expenses, including reasonable attorney's fees, incurred by any person in connection with the collection of the amount for which the check or other draft was written, whichever is greater, and shall be liable for interest upon the amount of the check or other draft at the rate provided in subsection (1) of Section 4 of the Interest Act. Costs and expenses shall include reasonable costs and expenses incurred in the nonlitigated collection of the check or other draft. A person who undertakes a nonlitigated collection against the person who issued a check or other draft that is not honored upon presentment shall make a written demand by certified mail, return receipt requested, delivered to the last known address of that person in order to become eligible for any costs and expenses in excess of $25. The written demand shall demand payment within 30 days of the mailing of the demand and shall include notice of liability for the costs and expenses.

Why do some people say the money is borrowed into existence?

I have been trying to get to the heart of this matter myself. The reason that people say that is because to the best of my knowledge it is borrowed into existence. When the FED wants to expand the monetary base it calls up the treasury and ask to buy a bond. Which is a debt instrument and then "prints" the money up out of thin air to buy the bond. Then that newly created money is lend to regional banks. That newly created money is then lent out at a 10 percent reserve ratio. So the bank gets 1000 from the FED and lends out 900; that same 900 is deposited into another bank and is lent out at a 10 percent reserve ratio. So 810 is loaned out. Can you see that there was only 1000 and it has turned into 1810. So when the bank lends out money it is creating new money. In other words when you go in and take out a loan the money doesn't exist until you sign on the dotted line. All money is created in this way Money is Debt. If someone can refute this claim please do.

What type of money does russia use?

The ruble or rouble (Russian: рубль rublʹ, plural рубли rubli; see note on English spelling and Russian plurals with numbers) (code: RUB) is the currency of the Russian Federation and the two partially recognized republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Formerly, the ruble was also the currency of the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union before their dissolution. Belarus and Transnistria use currencies with the same name. The ruble is subdivided into 100 kopeks (sometimes transliterated kopecks, or copecks; Russian: копейка, kopéyka; plural: копейки, kopéyki). The ISO 4217 code is RUB or 643; the former code, RUR or 810, refers to the Russian ruble before the 1998 redenomination (1 RUB = 1000 RUR).Currently there is no official symbol for the ruble, though the abbreviation руб. is in wide use. Various symbols have been suggested as possibilities, including "РР" (Cyrillic for "RR"), an "R" with two horizontal strokes across the top (similar to the Philippine peso sign), ₱, a "Р" with one horizontal strike
