140 degrees to 160 so it will feel hot to the touch. All motors will have a thermal cut out if they get to hot it shuts off. If you are having this problem contact a pool expert.
Yes the hotter it gets the more efficient it is running and as a bonus it is also warming your water.
The impeller pump on a motor vehicle is more commonly know as the water pump. The water pump, pumps water through your cooling system to keep your vehicle from running hot.
Any pool store should be able to order it for you. It's not a part most pool stores keep in stock. You can also check with the company that made the tub.
The impeller is either clogged with something, your filter is clogged or your pump motor has a defect. The pump is working very hard so it heats up. You said you vacuumed? My bet is on the clogged filter! Well, the filter, the large tank, would never have aburnt smell. Ya gotta be talkin' about the pump motor. Turn off the motor, get down and sniff towards the back side of the motor being careful not to put your hand on the motor as it may be hot to the touch. If the motor smells like burning wires then the motor may be getting ready to crash. How old is the motor? Did you empty the pump basket after vacuuming? A dirty filter usually will not cause the motor to burn.
slow start is caused by your impeller being plugged or your start capacator going out, what kind of filter do you have sand, cartridge or DE?When was it last cleaned? Is there air in your pump basket? Are all your skimmer baskets clean? Is the body of the motor to hot to touch? Sounds like a bad motor.
maybe your pump motor is overheating or running super hot and possibly kind of melting it. Or maybe their is air in the hoses and it is being ruined by forceful Well, the pump has been running dry for days. If it has warped the pump lid then it has warped anything within15" of the pump pot - that is the pipes, fittings into the pump, the pump basket, the pump pot that the basket sits in, the pump seal, impeller. All are probably trash.
on the side going into middle of pool
The motor has 1 0r 2 condensors on it look like tubes on the side of the motor often covered with a little box these put an extra surge of power through the motor as it starts possibly 1 or both of these are broken down, Check with your pool shop or the motors manufacturer.
The pump is probably off or the coupling that connects the pump to the motor is broken.
I live in Phoenix Arizona where it gets very hot also. I was advised to protect my equipment from the sun to make it last longer. I personally used redwood lattice and some shade cloth sold at nurseries. I was also advised to spray paint my PVC plumbing to further protect it.
Assuming the heater is running properly, is sized correctly the filter is clean it could possibly mean that the run time for the pump is not sufficient. How long is the filter/pump running? The water returning to the pool may not feel "hot" to the touch and shouldn't. Ken
Heat pump pool heaters use electricity to capture heat. As the pool pump circulates the water, it is drawn from the pool and through a filter and into the heat pump heater. The heater itself has a fan that pulls in outside air and pushes it over the evaporator coil. At this point liquid refrigerant in the evaporator coil absorbs the heat from the outside air converting it into a gas. The gas is then passed through the compressor where it increases the heat. This very hot gas is then sent through the condenser where the hot gas is transferred to the cool pool water circulating through the heater. The heated water is then returned to the pool. A pool heater on the other hand uses the gas directly to heat the water by fueling the combustion chamber.
What about "pool chemicals in a hot tub"?
