That is what the First Witch does to the Master of the Tiger, after his wife refused to give the witch chestnuts. "I will drain him dry as hay; sleep shall neither night nor day hang upon his pent-house lid. He shall live a man forbid."
Macbeth kills Duncan in his own castle at night time.
Because of his guilt in the death of Duncan and the witches prophesied that he would find the forest moving towards the castle and this scared him.
Well one answer is that the witches have the power to control the wind. This is used for example in act , scene III when the witches discuss of their evil deeds, the first witch uses her power of the wind (and the second witch's) to put a sailor's boat (the husband of the lady who refused to give her the chestnuts she asked for) on unfriendly water as she strands him at sea for 81 weeks without sleep. That is the only one I have found in reading so far if I find the other answers while I read I will be sure to post them.
In Macbeth, insomnia is a symbol for guilt. "Macbeth hath murdered sleep, the innocent sleep, sleep that knits up the ravel'd sleeve of care . . ."
As Hamlet is contemplating suicide, he equates sleep with death. But then he imagines what death is like, and worries that if there are dreams or something after, it would be bad: "To die, to sleep - To sleep, perchance to dream - ay, there's the rub, For in this sleep of death what dreams may come..."
Macbeth's downfall would have been when he can not get to sleep and he had just been cursed by the three witches

The lighter sideSince the average human needs at least 4 - 8 hours sleep per night, then yes. Otherwise they'd be very grumpy bunnies (witches) in the morning.

Lady Macbeth was suffering from extreme guilt of the act of murder against Duncan. She was confessing to the crime in her sleep. The guilt was eating away at her until she committed suicide.
Macbeth kills Duncan in his own castle at night time.
Her Sleepwalking in Act V Scene I shows she is having inner turmoil and is restless, scared of what is found in the dark hence even in her sleep, she brings a candle.
Of course, Lady Macbeth has her famous sleepwalking scene in which she not only walks but talks in her sleep. It is clear that she is disturbed and unable to sleep properly. Indeed it is a recurring theme that the Macbeths have, by committing their crime, deprived themselves of a good night's sleep. A voice tells Macbeth as he murders Duncan, "Sleep no more, Macbeth hath murdered sleep." Later he expresses envy for Duncan because, "after life's fitful fever he sleeps well", and still later Lady Macbeth tells him, "you lack the season of all natures, sleep." which suggests that Macbeth has not been sleeping well.
Yes, some people claim that exercising before going to bed affects their sleep, but studies made do not report any evidence to confirm that. These studies show that excercise before going to bed does not affect sleep.
