AIDs is a sexually transmitted disease. It is spread by humans. Though if a human had sexual intercourse with an animal, the animal might be affected. It is doubtful though.

Do bears get AIDS?

To my knowledge there are only a few species that develop AIDS. HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is the cause of AIDS in humans. HIV is not able to live in any other animal. Cats and monkeys have a different virus that infects them. We are not able to acquire these viruses because they are species specific. Bears are not a known to develop AIDS.

Can other species be killed by aids?

Absolutley. Felines seem to be the most common animal to contract FIV (feline imunodeficiency virus). I had a cat the died of AIDS. However the virus is not transmittable to humans, and human HIV is not transmittalble to animals. There have also been reports of AIDS in horses and pigs.
