a combine rakes the corn stalks into bars that strip the ears from the stalk and conveys them to a truck
yes, deer corn is just dried out regular yellow corn. most deer corn comes from ears of corn that will not sell, like if it is deformed or possibly picked prematurely.
Livestock corn is known as "Field Corn" Corn for human consumption is known as "Sweet Corn" Livestock corn can also be eaten by humans if it is picked early in it's development; at that point it is known as "roasting ears" The main difference is the size and texture of the kernels. Field corn is larger and tougher to chew, but that also contributes to it's greater ability to be dried and stored for long periods of time
Yes.
A "corn field".
no
You detassel field corn to prevent cross-pollination, often from an adjacent field where seed corn is being grown.
You can, but if they pollinate at the same time, the sweet corn will taste all starchy and not sweet because it crossed with the field corn.
I'm not sure I am reading your question correctly but if your referring to the few rows left standing after the bulk of the field has been harvested it is to have a sampling of the field to show crop damage caused by deer etc. Answer #2, from Iowa Yes, vague question. Some corn is actually cut off a few inches above the ground to make what is called "silage" to feed cattle. The entire plant is used. Nothing is left except short stubble in the field. This is done earlier than picking, when the corn is still green. However, when corn is picked, only the ears are removed and the bent over stocks are left in the field. If a farmer uses part of a field for silage, it will be cut, leaving the other part to mature and be picked at a later date.

Corn picked earlier are sweeter because of the temperature. The later season corn is desired for savory recipes.
