Potential energy
Glucose is the major food molecule in living organisms. Most carbohydrates are converted into glucose before they are broken down to release energy. The chemical bonds of glucose are where the energy is stored or used for work.
Energy is stored in chemical bonds. For example, when a hydrogen bond in a water molecule breaks, it releases massive amounts of energy. Hydrogen bonds are used to push a space shuttle into orbit.
When chlorophyll absorbs light, much of the energy is transferred directly to electrons in the chlorophyll molecule, raising the energy levels of these electrons. These high-energy electron make photosynthesis work.
potential energy
Potential energy is stored in the nucleus or in the chemical bonds
Chemical energy is stored in the bonds of the atoms making up a molecule.

In the chemical bonds that like their bonds.
When atoms join together to form a molecule the chemical energy is stored and result in this formation. Like wise, in the break down of a molecule the chemical energy is given off.
energy cant be stored in a broken molecule instead energy realeses when you break a molecule
