Fire is formed by the combination of three components: an ignition, a fuel, and oxygen. This is sometimes referred to as the "fire triangle". As long as these three exist, a fire may go on indefinitely. However, when one is eliminated, the fire is extinguished.

dry leaves, grass, ect. then oxygen. then a spark. (plus some flamable materials like hairspray, gasoline, rubbing alcohol, ect.)
