The modern model of the atom has electrons in waves or clouds that surround the nucleus rather than just electrons as particles that orbit the nucleus. These models represent the possibilities of where the electrons could be at any particular time. In the wave model, where the amplitude is the largest, the electrons are more likely to be in that position.
Bohr's model comprised a small, positively charged nucleus comprising neutrons and protons. This is surrounded by electrons travelling in circular orbits. In the modern model the motion of the electron is described by a wave function which gives the probability of the electron being located in a particular area.
