It is related to the Circulatory system, because the blood travels to the lungs to receive oxygen for oxygenation.

Also, it is related to the nervous system because the nervous system controls the breathing rate.

Breathing is the physical process where oxygen enters our lungs and carbon dioxide is expelled.

Respiration is a chemical process which releases energy from food. We need this energy to survive (so enzymes can function, muscles move etc)

In order for respiration to occur, we need oxygen and a food source (namely, glucose)

C6H12O6 + 6O2 -> 6CO2 + 6H20

The oxygen comes from the air we breathed in - which is why breathing is important. Furthermore, one waste product of respiration is carbon dioxide, which needs to be breathed out (a build up in CO2 is toxic).
