How large of an area did the Promised Land cover?

Ultimately... the "Promised LAND" about which God made His oath to Abraham and his [Faithful] descendants turns out to be the thread that runs throughout the Scriptures: the "gospel [Good News] of the Kingdom of God"... that shall eventually rule over the "entire earth":

"It is clear, then, that God's Promise to give THE WHOLE EARTH TO ABRAHAM and his descendants was not based on obedience to God's Law, but on the new relationship with God that comes by Faith." (Rom.4:13 NLT New Living Translation)

"...God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham." (Luke 3:8 KJV)

"...'Abraham believed God, so God declared him Righteous because of his Faith.' The real children[descendants] of Abraham, then, are all those who put their Faith in God. What's more, the Scriptures looked forward to this time when God would accept the Gentiles, too, on the basis of their Faith[the Spiritual phase of God's plan]. God Promised this Good News to Abraham long ago when He said, 'All the nations will be blessed through you.'

And so it is: All who put their Faith in Christ share the same blessing Abraham received because of his Faith." (Gal.3:6-9 NLT)

"For all of you who were baptized into Christ, have clothed yourselves with Christ. In Him there is neither Jew nor Greek [Gentile], there is neither slave nor free, there is no male or female; for you are all One in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are the descendants of Abraham, and HEIRS [of the whole world: the Promised Land] according to the Promise." (verses 27-29 MNT Montgomery New Testament)

"...you shall see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD [when he finally inherits God's Promise to him]... And [Faithful] people shall comefrom the Orient and from the Occident, from the north and from the south, and sit down in the Kingdom of God." (Luke 13:28-29 MNT)

"All of these people we have mentioned received God's approval because of their Faith, yet NONE OF THEM RECEIVED ALL THAT GOD PROMISED [they've not yet received the whole world as their Promised inheritance]. For God had far better things in mind for us that would also benefit them, for they can't receive the Prize at the end of the race until WE FINISH THE RACE." (Heb.11:39-40 NLT)

The Promised Land shall be the inheritance of the whole earth by mankind; God's future Divine, Immortal Family, reborn through Faith as God's Children at the Last Great Day of God's plan:

"For His Holy Spirit speaks to us deep in our hearts [our spirits] and tells us that WE ARE GOD'S CHILDREN. And since we are His Children, we will share His Treasures [God owns the treasures of the entire universe] - for everything God gives to His Son, Christ, IS OURS, TOO. But if we are to share His Glory, we must also share His suffering. [the human birth process is one of suffering... and so is the Spiritual birth process offered to us by God]

Yet what we now suffer [as God's Children suffering, struggling, and growing in God's Righteous Character through the Spiritual Nourishment of His Word -- His Life-Giving Bread -- from this world's persecution and hatred of Christ - see John 15:18-21] is nothing compared to the Glory He will give us later. For the creation is waiting eagerly for that future Day when God will reveal who His Children really are... For we know that all creation HAS BEEN GROANING AS IN THE PAINS OF CHILDBIRTH right up to the present time..." (Rom.8:16-22 NLT)

In spite of its spiritual blindness and ignorance of God's Truth, due to its sorrowful, miserable, painful, tearful, depressing, oppressive worship of Satan the Devil; this world and all of the generations of mankind have been in the throes of childbirth [a recreation]... and doesn't even know it.

Mankind... created in God's image [not accidentally evolved without reason or purpose]... possesses the potential to become God's future, Divine, Immortal Family. And God is also preparing a HOME for His Family -- the Promised LAND -- the EARTH [which, amazingly enough, shall also expand even more to include THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE]. The Kingdom, Government, and HOUSEHOLD of God!

"And the LORD will BE KING OF ALL THE EARTH..." (Zech.14:9 NLT).

"...I saw a New Heaven and a New Earth... And I saw the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, coming down from God [the Father] out of heaven... 'Look, the HOME OF GOD is NOW AMONG HIS PEOPLE! HE WILL LIVE WITH THEM... GOD [the Father] HIMSELF WILL BE WITH THEM.

He will remove all of their sorrows, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. For THE OLD WORLD and ITS EVILS are GONE FOREVER!" (Rev.21:1-4 NLT)

"...'Look, I AM making all things new! ...'Write this down, for what I tell you is Trustworthy and True.'" (verse 5)

When all is said... and done... the Father's "Promised Land" to His Children will include the "entire universe" -- which His Firstborn Son has already inherited:

"...He [God the Father] has spoken to us through a Son, whom He had appointed LAWFUL OWNER OF EVERYTHING ["everything" by definition must include the universe], and through whom He made the worlds." (Heb.1:2 WNT William's New Testament)

And we've already read, above, in Romans 8:17, that God's Children WILL SHARE in everything that His Firstborn Son has inherited!

When all shall be said and done... this world remains tragically ignorant of the Hope and True extent of the "unlimited boundaries" God has Promised His Faithful Children.

Jesus' prayer outline [that most people call "the Lord's Prayer"] begins with a plea to His Father to "establish His Kingdom and His Will on this earth!" It reveals that God's Will is already DONE in heaven [throughout the rest of the universe]. Only the earth, where God has cast down Satan and his demons and confined "sin and evil" until He eradicates them and it on Judgment Day [see Jude 1:6 & II Peter 2:4]: only on the whole earth is where His Kingdom needs to be "restored"... and His Promises fulfilled. And that's exactly what He is doing.

"...'When the Son of Man comes in His Glory [when He finally fulfills His Promise to Abraham and his Faithful Children of both Blessings and Landholdings], and all the angels with Him, then He will sit upon His Glorious throne. ALL THE NATIONS[of the whole world] will be gathered in His presence... Then the King will say to those on the right, 'Come, YOU WHO ARE BLESSED OF MY FATHER [Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, the prophets, and all who are Faithful], INHERIT THE KINGDOM PREPARED FOR YOU FROM THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD." (Matt.25:31-34 NLT)

The size of the biblical Promised Land changes in different parts of The Bible. For example, in Genesis 15:18-21, it is the area from Nile River to the Euphrates. At other times, it is the land of Canaan - Present day Israel and the Palestinian Territories, less the Negev Desert and Philistia. elsewhere, it is only the area that can be seen from on top of a mountain, looking across the River Jordan.
