We are born with orignal sin, which is washed away in Baptism, when we become members of His Church, His Mystical Body. His death on the cross is where our redemption was won. His resurrection and ascension into Heaven allows us to enter Heaven where we will spend eternity with Him. He is the first to do what we will do, to allow us to follow Him from death to resurrection and life in Heaven.
