Because all of the rocks that were around when Earth formed have been recycled by plate tectonics and erosion. Hoped I helped!!
Plate tectonics played a crucial role in the formation of North America's coal reserves. About 300 million years ago, during the Pennsylvanian period, North America was a landmass located near the equator. The collision of tectonic plates and subsequent oceanic crust subduction created sedimentary basins that gradually filled with organic material, which eventually formed into coal deposits due to heat and pressure. Thus, plate tectonics provided the necessary geological conditions for the creation of North America's coal reserves.
It is believed by many that the archaea and bacteria developed separately from a common ancestor nearly 4 billion years ago.
The plate tectonics are the mechanisms that started to drift Pangaea (super continent) into separate continents 200billion years ago into the continents we have today. :D
In the Precambrian time, 4.6 billion yrs. ago
Probably about 3.2 billion years ago
Rodinia is a supercontinent that formed around 1100 million years ago and lasted until its break-up about 750 million years ago. Rodinia is evidence of plate tectonics since the plates shift positions throughout geologic time.
Mainly because it happened so long ago - "erosion" wiped out essentially all the direct evidence long ago. Erosion includes things like plate tectonics and meteor strikes as well as wind and rain.

Mainland Japan originally split off from the rest of the Asian continent approximately fifteen million years ago, during the Miocene epoch. Its smaller islands developed later on due to millions of years of plate tectonics.
@ his time plate tectonics was not theorized. they didnt know yet that continental and oceanic crust are seperate. it was thought that continents were drifting on water and moved some million years ago due to erosion, etc! hence the "continental drift theory"
2000 years ago, when the two plate tectonics pushed up against each other and made mount Stromboli

a very long long time ago
