How long with the throbbing pain last after wisdom tooth removal?

My teeth didn't hurt much at all after I had all four wisdom teeth removed. But the doctor ripped the skin at the back of my nose when he pulled the breathing tube out too quickly and this bled and hurt like hell for a week or two after. Unfortunately the painkillers were in tablet form and due to my nose/throat being ripped I couldn't swallow anything, so went cold turkey! haha The swelling went away completely after about 10 days. The anesthetic they gave me in theatre helped with the pain the first couple of days and I would say days 5-7 were the worst. After that the pain was managable and went away completely after day 11. I haven't had any problems with pain or numbness since and it's been nearly a year now.

∙ 13y agoIt depends on the person, complications and pain tolerance. I was in a lot of pain for a 6 days and i have a very high pain tolerance. Mine were also not impacted and straight pulls.
