The above tells how, but does not answer the question, which is 'How often?'. From memory, it's fairly infrequent, once a week or less.

Depends on how big it is and/or how old it is. If it is really big, (like a burmese python) it could probably go about 2 months without food. If it is medium size, (like a diamond back rattlesnake) it could prob. go about 4 weeks. If it is small, (like a southern ringneck) about 2 weeks (at most).

It rather depends on the size of the prey animal. If it's something small like a rabbit, it'll take about a week. Something large - like an antelope, would take about three weeks. Other factors that affect the time it takes - would be the ambient temperature the reptile is living in.
