Zoloft has a half-life of 1 day - that means for every day that passes without taking zoloft, the level in the blood falls by 50%. So, after one day, the blood level would be reduced by 50%; after 2 days, 25%; after 3 days, 12.5%, and so on.
It works differently for everyone. I felt positive effects after about a week of Zoloft and continued to slowly improve the next few weeks after that as well. Side effects also lasted 3 weeks :(
Some people have been taking Zoloft since it first came out. Do what works for you, and talk with a therapist about this issue.
