King Charles IICharles II was born on 29th May 1630.

He became King Of England on 29th May 1660 when the English monarchy was restored, and reigned until his death on 8th February 1685 - a reign of 24 years and 10 months.

Royalists hold that he became King on the death of his father, King Charles I, who was executed on 30th January 1649, thus adding a further 11 years and 3 months to Charles II's reign.
