As they walked slowly and Mary on a donkey, that does not travel fast like a horse they covered 4-to 7 miles a day s. so it took them time a year or two.

>The Bible does not say how Mary and Joseph got to Bethlehem. There is no mention of a donkey so that is purely speculation. Guesses as to how long it took them to get to Bethlehem range from 3 days (which seems kind of short) and up. I've recently read a good estimate in Adam Hamilton's book The Journeythat a reasonable number seems to have been about 10 days.

∙ 13y agoLet us be honest, it is hard to tell as Joseph walked all the way, while Mary sat on a donkey, and donkeys do not travel fast like horses do.
