Reconstruction costs topped $50 million after the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. The same reconstruction costs would be more than $20 billion today.
everything
Not really, they are still struggling and they will be for a long time but they have almost everything under control.
No. An earthquake would never last more than an hour. Most last less than a minute. The 1989 earthquake lasted 15 seconds.
dont know,and dont care
It took months because so many buildings were destroyed in the Earthquake. The Interstate 880 freeway took 8 years to rebuild, and the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge has not yet finished rebuilding from the 1989 earthquake.
San Francisco, San Jose, Los angeles, Long Beach San Diego and Sacramento are also near earthquake zones but do not have nearly the level of threat as the 4 listed above
the Haiti earthquake went for about 37 seconds, but it had aftershocks like most earthquakes do which made it harder for the rescuers to save them because everything kept on wobbling around.
It depends on the size of the earthquake, it may take a long time like Hurricane Katrina, or a little time,,, I hope Haiti gets more medical help fast. :)
the average earthquake time for long beach depends on how the high or low the magnitude range is.
The earthquake from 4 March 1977: 56 seconds.
no time ....
