Indefinitely - until they died, were killed or if they were lucky when they were liberated.

∙ 9y agoIn general prisoners were worked until exhaustion then taken to Auschwitz to be killed. Prisoners would not have stayed in Auschwitz for more than a year, up to 12,000 prisoners were killed per day in Auschwitz.

∙ 12y agoThat would depend on which camp you are talking about. Concentration camps like Auschwitz-Birkenau, had people who survived these camps for years and who stayed in these camps for years. However, other camps, like Treblinka, which served as extermination camps, meant that people usually only stayed in these camps for a couple of hours before being killed.
