The Titanic sailed four days before it hit the iceberg. The iceberg hit as if it was punching in Morris code. Before they knew that that was how the ice hit it people thought that it opened like a can opener. One man on the ship thought that the titanic was really unsinkable! The founder said " she is made of iron, I assure you it will sink." That man thought it couldn't sink just because they said it was "unsinkable".
It sunk on the 5th day. The launch was April 10, 1912; it hit an iceberg on the 14th and sunk on the 15th.

We should also know that within those 100 years there were 26 leap years, which leaves a total of 74 normal years. So 26*366=9516days. 74*365=27010days.

Work continued on the ship after launching, which is why she was afloat for the better part of a year. She was in service from 10 April to 15 April 1912.
