They are quiet and known for their excellent egg laying production (up to 365 per year, or one per day in one year old ducks from the best utility strains; however production can vary quite a lot between strains), and only very rarely go broody. The eggs are white, off-white, blue, or light green in colour and around the size of a large hen's egg (approximately 2½ oz or 70.88g).

Ducks can live up to 18 years, though it is not common that they will live that long.
ducks live in ponds or lakes, and a duck also lives in fresh water lakes.
To answer your question, some duck do live in the rain forest but not a lot. There are types of rain forest ducks that live there feeding off the leaves and seeds in the water. Rain forest ducks are different then regular ducks for witch hey eat different things. Rain forest ducks also live in the small lakes and ponds.
Muscovies live for about five or so years. I do not know if females live any longer than males of vice -versa. Generally they live about the same lifespan.
I got day old Runner ducks back in July and by January of this year, they had started laying about an egg a day. I have 10 ducks and generally get between 7-10 eggs per day, so sometimes some of them do not lay every day. Good luck!@

Yes, ducks can. Make sure that the ducks can be closed in at night.
Shooting anything is cruel. In the case of ducks, it kills ducks, which is cruel. It can also leave ducks that survive with a serious injury that is extremely painful and difficult for them to live with.
