Sperm production takes about seventy-two days to develop in the male reproductive organs. After ejaculation they can live in the female for up to 5 days, but at room temperate - outside of the body, they will die within a couple hours - depending on the environment.
Human sperm cells die quickly if they dry out. As long as they remain wet, however (as they would in a vagina), they can live for 24 to 48 hours.

How long does male sperm live
There are a couple reasons that sperm die after being inside of you for more than a few days. 1. Your body temp 98.6 degrees is way to hot for them to survive in. This is the reason the testes are outside a mans body, rather than inside. 2. Once the seminal fluid flushes out of you, there are no more nutrients for the sperm to live off of and the acid level inside you is to strong. Without the alkaline that the seminal fluid provides the sperm cannot survive. Generally after 3 days they will die and be absorbed into your body. It protein :)
Once it hits air, its (( dead )). It can live inside the body for 5-6 days
Sperm can live inside the vagina up to 5 days. However outside of the vagina they only live for a few minuets to a few hours when the oxygen hits them.
The testes are part of the reproductive system in male animals. The testes are the site of sperm production. The testes function to keep the sperm warm enough, so that they stay alive long enough to fertilize an egg.
