Blanch broccoli for 3 minutes (or blanch with steam for 5 minutes) before freezing. Freeze in small amounts is better that freezing in a big lump.

I remember Quiche Lorraine (invented long before 1600) becoming very popular suddenly around the mid 1970s, and just about anything you could put zucchini into. One particular horror I found was shredded zucchini in brownies (not magic brownies, nor greenies) but the actual recipe called for a cup of shredded zucchini to replace some of the egg and butter.

If it is kept frozen, in a properly sealed container and is not subjected to temperature fluctuations (as in a self-defrosting freezer), it can keep for a year and longer. Try to consume it before the next crop comes in. It can actually "keep" much longer, but the quality will deteriorate.
