MOPP stands for Mission Oriented Protective Posture and describes an individual's chemical protective clothing.
There are six levels of MOPP:
It should take no longer than eight minutes to go from MOPP 0 to MOPP 4 (assuming MOPP 0 with gear carried or within arm's reach). This varies by situation; it's a lot more time consuming if you have to go to MOPP 4 while hunched over under a poncho due to aerial spray hazard.
With practice, it's not uncommon to cut down to 2-3 minutes to full encapsulation.

MOPP 4 MOPP level 4 is when the gloves are donned. * At MOPP 0 no gear is worn, but soldiers are at a heightened state and gear is immediately available. * At MOPP 1 the gas mask and hood are donned. * At MOPP 2 overboots are worn. * At MOPP 3 the CPE suit is worn. * At MOPP 4 the gloves are put on; however, unit commanders are given flexibility to adjust the protocols to meet the mission objectives.
