The issue is not the length of time that a child resides in a household but if the adult(s) of that household have been granted legal custody of said child, whether by being the custodial parent or legal guardian(s).
The age of majority for California is 18 in some cases that is when child support ceases due to the fact that the individual is now a legal adult. However, the terms of the child support order dictate how long a parent's financial obligation last, some support orders stipulate that both parents are obligated to support their child to an age that surpasses that of a "legal adult" and/ or includes specific "higher education" terms. FYI, if a child is deemed mentally or physically challenged financial support often becomes a complicated issue.

No.
No, not as long as the father has his own income then all support and arrears are his responsibility. However, if there is a order to withhold tax refunds and you file a joint return they may garnish your potentional funds.
I think no matter where you are you pay child support until the child is 18
YES, NAME DOESN'T MATTER. AS LONG AS CHILD IS YOURS AND IT HAS BEEN PROVEN YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE.
No, the last I heard as long as they were in school yes if they dropped out for any reason then no. They may depend on the state you live in. My mom is a supervisor in child support, the rules are that a child support case ends when a child graduates from high school or turns 18, whichever comes LAST. Not to exceed 19 years of age.
It depends on the child support agreement--and it may make a difference if the child is living with you or not!
There is no statue of limitation in California on child support but it's usually not more than 18 years unless the child support agreement says differently. Your child is not a child and has not been for many years so I don't know why you are still paying and why you have found it acceptable to do so for so long. You need to read the agreement you signed and if this is not correct that you are still paying, you need to contact a lawyer and get the money back from the child's mother. If it is correct and you want to end it you have to go to court so the judge can end it.
As long as you're not on Welfare, contact child support enforcement.
A Georgia man served a year for not paying child support on a child not his. see links
Apparently, you pay child support until the child or children reaches the age of 18 .
you have to pay child support as long as your child is under 18 years of age

A mother is supposed to support her child through high school, as long as the child remains in school. Children are not required to support their parents.
