Well hamsters should have good exercise from its wheel in the cage but i would consider getting it a hamster ball and/or playpen. You should take it out of its cage for about 20 minutes a day and put it in a ball or playpen.

∙ 15y agoHamsters need exercise every day, and the best way to give them this is to buy a spinning running wheel, so they may run in it in their cage. Hamsters need exercise at least once a day, depending on the amount of food consumed and overall weight.

In addition, you can allow your hamster to run in a hamster ball for a maximum of 20 minutes. You can also let your hamster run on your lap and across some other safe surfaces.

You should also keep in mind that they should get at least an hour of 'out of cage' play time which can also include a small animal playpen like I use with my dwarf hamster but always monitor them while in it as they are amazing little escape artists.

∙ 12y agoYou should put your hamster in its ball for about half an hour to 45 mins per day. Make sure your hammy has a wheel too. You can play with it as much as you want, but make sure your hammy gets a fair amount of sleep, as they are nocturnal anyway. <3
