Well, its really hard to say because everyone's body will react differently, and it depends on how your body heals.

A tongue piercing is considered an open wound right up until you let it close. After five years mine is still considered that. I have had mine for about five years now and I'm so used to it that when i take it out, i forget. I have gone a little over two weeks with it out and it didn't close or get smaller.

I had a tongue ring for close to four years and it took a couple days at most. I don't think it actually matters how long it's been once it has been more than a year or two.

A tongue piercing can start to close within a few hours if left without jewelry. However, it may take several weeks for it to fully close, especially for a piercing that has been in place for six years. Individual healing processes may vary.

I got my tongue pierced and its to far back i went to 2 other piercers and they said it was fine but im unhappy with it if i take it out how long should i wait to get it repierced?

It's important to allow your tongue to fully heal before getting it repierced. I would recommend waiting at least 4-6 weeks to ensure the area has properly healed and there is reduced risk of infection. Be sure to consult with a reputable piercer for guidance on when it is safe to get it repierced.

How long do I have to keep a tongue piercing in before you can take it out to hide it from my parents?

I took mine out about a week in and replaced it with a clear bar, but they tell you you should wait a minimum of 2 wks before you remove the original bar. You can't keep the bar out or the hole will close. It's only a matter of minutes before it will close so I don't advise you to take it out and keep it out. Just replace it with a tongue retainer. You can google them. Also, it doesn't matter how long you've had the piercing, your tongue heals quickly and the hole will close. I know someone who had their tongue piercing for 10 yrs but when she took her tongue ring out it only took about half an hour before the hole started closing.
