Cardboard, unless specifically treated, is relatively biodegradable. Given time, microorganisms and other decomposers will break the fibers of the cardboard down and produce soil. The rate at which this happens depends on a number of factors, including the type of cardboard being discussed, the state of the cardboard at the beginning of the decomposition process, and the nature of the surroundings in which decomposition is expected.
Corrugated cardboard is a versatile construction material that has become ubiquitous in the packaging world. What most people don’t know, however, is that its uses extend far beyond crating up all your items. A simple internet search will reveal ready plans for everything from cardboard furniture and children’s toys to custom packaging and shipping containers. Let your creative side really shine with cardboard that is strong enough to support anything you want to carry, and you’ll find that the things you can make are nearly unlimited. Cardboard boxes made from folded corrugated cardboard are able to support heavy weight and large volumes of storage. Making sure that these two factors are somewhat balanced isn’t a bad idea, as corrugated cardboard and paperboard are both rated for the amount of weight they can hold. Although the thickness of a sheet is a good general indicator of strength, it isn’t the only important characteristic. Cardboard sheets that can be printed, creased and cut into virtually any size or shape are made from multiple sheets of low-grade, high strength paper fibers. Two sheets, or liners, are usually sandwiched together with a third fluted sheet in between, creating a ridged internal structure that can support much more weight than a comparable single layered cardboard piece. Corrugation makes it possible for DIY enthusiasts to build cardboard tables, chairs and other fully functional household items. Movers love to ship things in cardboard that is strong enough to provide some padding for fragile items without adding much weight to be carried. Temporary or permanent storage couldn’t be easier than it is with cardboard, which can be sealed or taped using any regular adhesive. Although you can probably find a single chaep box anywhere, you need to check online when you’re going to need custom designs or multiple pieces of the same cardboard shapes. You could get a bunch of boxes and then stack them like you would stairs and then lay a long couple of pieces of cardboard on top and make sure its supported. Then i could get a skateboard and just skate down the cardboard!
The water will not ever break down. You will need to remove it.

Plastic takes a long time to break down.
Very bad cause, plastic takes long to disintegrate ( break down). It takes about 100 years and by the time it does break down then it will be too late cause there will already be even more plastic!
It takes 500 years to brake down.
