∙ 13y agoThey tend to be immediate or occur within the first couple of hours. A year ago I had an ERCP to remove a gall stone that was trapped in my bile duct. Upon waking up from the anesthesia, I noticed a strong aching pain in my upper abdomen that wasn't there prior to the procedure. Over the next couple of hours, it proceeded to get worse. I was admitted to the hospital again 12 hours later with pancreatitis.
