The time taken by planets to orbit the sun depends on their distance from the sun. The planets that are closer take shorter time while the planets farther away take longer time. Mercury takes 88 days, Venus takes 224 days, Earth takes 365 days, Mars takes 687 days, Saturn takes 10760 days, Jupiter takes 4332 days, Neptune takes 60200 days and Uranus takes 30700 days.

Mercury: 176 days

Venus: 224 days

Earth: 365.26 days

Mars: 2 years, 730.5 days

Jupiter: 6 years, 2,192 days

Saturn: 29 years, 10,592 days

*Chiron: 51 years, 18,628 days

Uranus: 84 years, 30,682 days

Neptune: 165 years, 60,268 days

**Pluto: 248 years, 90,585 days

*Not to be confused with Pluto's moon Charon. Chiron is not a "planet" by today's terms, but listed anyway for astrological purposes.

**Astrologically a planet. Astronomically a dwarf planet.

Mercury : 87.969 days
Venus: 224.70069 days
Earth: 365.256366 days (1.0000175 year)
Mars: 686.971 days (1.8808476 years)
Jupiter: 4,331.572 days (11.85920 years)
Saturn: 10,759 days (29½ years) *
Uranus: 30,799.095 days (84.323 326 years)
Neptune: 60,190 days (164.79 years)

Note that in another section of the same source I found, it stated that Saturn takes 10,832.327 days to orbit the Sun, and stated 29.657 296 years. I do not know which of the two above answers is more accurate.

For Mercury it takes 88 Earth days to orbit the sun, but this is not even one day on Mercury. For Venus it takes 224.7 Earth days to orbit the sun. But I do not no how long it takes other planets to orbit the sun, sorry I couldn't be more help.

Why does it take the outer planets so long to orbit the Sun?

The outer planets take longer to orbit the Sun, because they are farther away from the Sun. It make its gravitational pull weaker to the farther planets. That means that the outer planets take longer to orbit the Sun.

How long does earth take to make one orbit around the sun?

Mercury, Days to orbit sun = 87.97, Years to orbit sun= 0.24 Venus, Days to orbit sun = 224.70, Years to orbit sun= 0.62 Earth, Days to orbit sun = 365.26, Years to orbit sun= 1.00 Mars, Days to orbit sun = 686.97, Years to orbit sun= 1.88 Jupiter, Days to orbit sun = 4331.57, Years to orbit sun= 11.86 Saturn, Days to orbit sun = 10759.22, Years to orbit sun= 29.46 Uranus, Days to orbit sun = 30799.10, Years to orbit sun= 84.32 Neptune, Days to orbit sun = 60190.00, Years to orbit sun= 164.79

What keeps the planets in orbit around the sun?

Gravity, combined with the velocities of the planets, keeps the planets in orbit around the Sun.Gravity between any body, such as a planet, and the Sun is one factor. Also the planet has a velocity. These two things combine to keep the planet in orbit around the Sun.Gravitation. The suns gravitational pull. The huge mass of the sun means it has a huge gravitational pull, keeping all of the planets in place. There is also the planets velocity that would take the planet away from the sun if there was no gravity, so these two forces act against each other.

What is a moon and how does it move around the solar system?

Moons are approximately spherical objects which orbit planets and are smaller than the planets that they orbit, although they are still relatively large objects (so an orbiting dust particle does not qualify as a moon). Since moons orbit planets, their motion around the solar system is controlled by the planets that they orbit; planets orbit the sun, and planets take their moons with them.

The path the planet takes around the sun?

The path the planets take around the sun, is called a orbit.
