If you are asking "how long does it take for the sperm to fertilize the egg once it penetrates the egg wall?", it is instantaneous. That's what "fertilized" means. If you are asking "how long does it take the sperm to fertilize the egg once it enters the female body?", there is no exact answer. it could take from a few minutes to a few days.

it takes up to 1 week for sperm to fertilize an egg depending on how fast the sperm swims

It can take several hours for the sperm to travel to the upper portion of the uterine tubes where they meet an egg ready for fertilization.

It usually takes between 3-5 days for Sperm to reach & fertilize the egg.

Sperm have long tails so they can swim vertically to fertilize the egg.

No. For pregnancy to occur there has to be a sperm connecting with an egg. Sperm can swim to find the egg in the woman's body, so if some sperm get into the vagina of a woman, they very well may make it to meet an egg.

If you are fertile during the time you had sex. The sperm and egg had union and fertilized. Then you get pregnant. The egg will die like 3 days if it did not come into contact with a motile sperm.

It takes a few minutes for a sperm cell to penetrate the wall of the egg (and when it does so a reaction in the wall prevents other sperm from entering).

They dieAnswerThe sperm can live upto 4 days inside a woman's body but if they do not find the egg,it will die. If the egg does not find a sperm, it will also die. The body realises this and the nourished uterus will shed its blood and that is why you get your period.
