There is no law saying that a pharmacy technician must complete a certain time in training to become certified, all you have to do is take a test, usually the PTCB or the ExCPT. After you have passed a test you do on-the-job training which may last up to 3 months in most places. If you choose to take up an online training program or a traditional classroom training program for it, it may last you up to 250 hours overall or about 4 months if you take at least 15 hours per week.
