How long does it take to obtain your electricians licence in an aprentice program?

depends on how long it takes you to learn. you can go to a trade high school or college and take the trade for 4 years and come out making some good dough, and already have years of being an apprentice

In the USA licensing requirements for construction work are controlled by local building officials. Typically, certain types of electrical work are only permitted to be performed by a Journeyman or Master electrician. The requirements for becoming a journeyman or master electrician, and the types of work they are permitted to do, vary between individual states; however, there are often interstate reciprocity agreements. Not all states offer a statewide journeyman or master electrician license, and the license may be limited to the county or city level.

Some electricians start their training as apprentices and learn by helping a licensed electrician. After a couple of years they can take the test for an apprentice's license or as a licensed electrician. COmmunity colleges usually require about a year or perhaps two to train electricians, but you still have to pass the test and you might be required to hold a job for some length of time. Master electricians require more training and more difficult tests.
