How long does it take to develop a good habit?
It's generally agreed on that 30 days is the time needed to ingrain a new habit. The activity should be preformed at least once a day, at about the same time. It also helps to display notes to self in the proxemity of the place where the habit ought to happen. Depends on the habit. Something like taking a vitamin everyday is as easy as leaving the bottles out for you to see every morning and your brain will automatically convert. Something like remembering to wipe your shoes is a little harder because you already have the bad habit of not doing it and its easier to forget, its automatic. Repetition is the key to any good or bad habit. Just like our abc's or a nursery rhyme, repeat, repeat. If you want to know a time length that depends on the persons ability and will to form a good habit and of course, laziness factor.

Answer The internet was originally ARPANET. It was commissioned bythe US Department of Defense in 1969 (starting with only 4computers linked together: an SDS Sigma 7 at UCLA, an SDS 940 atStanford Research Institute, an IBM 360/75 at UCSB, a DEC PDP-10 atthe University of Utah) and continued to grow… throughout the 70s.By the 1980s independent service providers were continuing tomultiply, and the Internet Activities Board was founded in 1983.The Internet developed as a visual medium when the first graphicalbrowsers became available. In 1989 Tim Berners-Lee at CERN inSwitzerland proposed a web browser that would display webpagesconsistently across all computers. With the addition ofstandardized display formats, the World Wide Web (WWW) came intoits own from the mid-1990s. Soooo roughly it took about 30 years. ( Full Answer )
Answer Every person is different. So, it can take different amounts of time to grow on and off a habit for different people. It also depends on what the habit is. Although your question is too general to offer much help, you may find this interesting to observe regarding creating or changing "h…abits". Simple repetitive tasks require a time frame of approximately 21 days to condition. Here is a familiar example: When you walk into your bedroom you "automatically" reach for the light switch on the left side as you enter. Then you move to a new home where the light switch is located on the right side as you enter. You will find that it will take you about 21 days to stop reaching for that light switch on the left side. (that is not there!). You will also find this 21 day "benchmark" to be the time your new house will start feeling "like home". Answer: Around 30 - 40 repetitions, with most people. It depends on how type of person you are; and also depends on that you are human being or animal. Animals take more time then human beings to make anything their habit, and they also take more time to leave that habit. Also, human beings differ from person to person. Answer : 21 days is not an accurate answer! That number appears to have been invented by a self-styled self-help expert based on guesswork. Research shows that the amount of time varies greatly depending on how complex the activity is, how often it's performed, and other factors. In one experiment habit formation took anywhere from 1 month to 8 months. ( Full Answer )
There is no reliable way of telling how long it will take for an individual's HIV infection to develop into AIDS - this is because there are differences in the virulence of the different strains of HIV, as well as huge variations in the healthy baseline strength of the immune systems that our geneti…c makeup has blessed us with.. The healthy immune system of some uninfected people is weaker than the level at which infected people are generally considered to need to start treatment in order to prevent AIDS from developing. If you are one of these people, you are at a risk of developing AIDS within a year or two of infection.. There is also age to consider. As we grow older, our immune systems tend to grow weaker - so the older you are when you are infected, the quicker you are likely to develop AIDS.. Another complicating factor is that AIDS isn't a specific illness for which there is a test; so, before arriving at a diagnosis of AIDS, a doctor look at a variety of symptoms and blood test results - they will will look for symptoms of one (or more) of the opportunistic infections or cancers and / or the presence of underlying immune deficiency. This means that an AIDS diagnosis can be made when you are still healthy - but at risk - or when you are already seriously ill.. All we can really say is that, untreated, almost everyone who is HIV-positive will eventually develop AIDS and will die within five to ten years .. and that with timely treatment, most people will not get seriously ill and should expect to live a long and healthy life.. Given that most of the current treatment guidelines recommend that treatment is commenced when the patient is still healthy - but not before significant damage has been done to the immune system - the following should give you a good idea of the huge variation in the speed at which HIV progresses:. Around thirty-three percent of patients will remain healthy for around ten years after infection, even without any sort of treatment or medical attention. . Around sixty percent of people will need to start treatment within four to five years of infection. . Between two and three percent will become ill more quickly and need treatment very shortly after infection .. and a similar number will not need treatment until they have been infected for between fifteen and twenty years. . NOTE: There is currently a vigerous and healthy debate about when it is best to start treatment. Current guidelines are based on the fact that some of the treatments were - in the past - potentially quite unpleasant, debilitating and lifestyle limiting; but this is no longer the case and the body of medical opinion now seems to be swinging to a position of supporting commencement of treatment whilst the patient's immune function is still substantially intact. It depends on the type of drug test. Some drug tests are immediate, where drops of urine are placed on to color changing areas. Then, within a few minutes, the areas will change color if positive or negative for a particular drug. Other drug tests are sent to a lab. The time for those drug tests …will simply depend on how long it takes them to send the specimen to the lab, and then how long it takes the lab to process things. Very busy laboratories can take several days, but generally since urine and blood must be processed quickly, the drug test would be back within a couple days. ( Full Answer )

The different books of the New Testament (NT) were written in the first century A.D. but at different times. They are not listed in strict chronological order in the Bible. Apparently the earliest of the books was completed/written about 40/45 A.D. and no other NT book seems to have been written …before that. Other books of the NT were subsequently written, and, finally, the latest books may have been completed towards the end of the first century. So the NT could have been written within a 60 year period. Of course the NT is not one book, but a collection of writings/books/letters etc, hence the term ' biblos ' meaning a collection of holy or sacred writings, which term which would also include the writings of the Old Testament, which forms the background to the New Testament. Opinions differ as the the exact dates of composition of the different books of the NT, but the general consensus is that they were all written no earlier than 40 AD and before 140 A.D. The actual 'composition time' would therefore span, at most, a 100-year time period. Answer The Gospel of Matthew was completed in 41 AD . The book of Revelation was completed in 96 AD. So the estimated completion time would be about 55 years. ( Full Answer )

Its an individual process. It really depends on healthy you werer when you were first diagnosed with HIV. The only way to know for sure for YOU is to see a dr. This is a TREATABLE (note: treatable refers to delaying the inevitable. treatment for AIDS will NOT, repeat NOT CURE IT) terminal illness. U…NLIKE in the '80s, HIV is not an IMMEDIATE death sentence anymore. You have choices and options and there are alot of medications out there that can prolong the developement of AIDS for years, if not decades or longer. Dont be a fool, call a doctor, use a condom, abstain from sex. Note: AIDS is not curable, but its development can be delayed Also: a lot of the drugs used to prevent AIDS can have adverse affects on other organs. HIV/AIDS will still wind up with you dying, it is incurable. The only way not to die from it is if you were dying from something else before, or you die from physical injury or something. If you're an adult, starting a thumb sucking habit should not have much affect on your occlusion, assuming your gums are healthy. It's a great habit in that, once habituated, it results in instant feelings of calm and an increased ability to go to sleep despite any stress you may have had during t…he day. To start developing your thumb sucking habit, get used to sucking your thumb upon going to sleep. If, upon waking, you find that your thumb left your mouth, don't be concerned. Continue doing this for the rest of your life. You'll find that in about one to three months or so it will come quite naturally and, not doing it, will leave you with a feeling that something is missing. The next times you should consider indulging is when watching TV, reading, being a passenger in a vehicle (some do it while driving but this may be dangerous), hanging with friends and relatives, attending a lecture and other such times in which you won't need both hands. Enjoy this wonderful, free, legal, convenient, nonintrusive habit. With the advent of the Internet, it's catching on with adults and adults are coming out finally. ( Full Answer )

Not very long. It really depends on what kind you have. There are 3 types of tonsillitis - acute, sub-acute and chronic. With the right medication it should take around 2 - 5 weeks depending on how bad yours is. If your tonsils are just red and swollen causing you to have a cough, bad throat, shiver…ing and pains in the head and stomach will usually last around 2 to 4 weeks. Usually if you are suffering from a bad case which may include white patches on your tonsils can last well over a month. Like i said it depends how badly you're affected. You should see your local doctor - he will be able to tell you by looking at them how bad it is and how long it will last. If u suffer from alot of sore throats record every time you have one. You can then show your Doctor and he will be able to tell either if you need your tonsils out. But some doctors will say not to because your tonsils help fight of any infections that are tyring to appear on you. ( Full Answer )

How to sleep better - tips Keep a regular sleep schedule . Set a regular bedtime. Go to bed at the sametime every night. Choose a time when you normally feel tired, sothat you don't toss and turn. Try not to break this routine onweekends when it may be tempting to stay up late. If you want tochan…ge your bedtime, help your body adjust by making the change insmall daily increments, such as 15 minutes earlier or later eachday. . Wake up at the same time every day. If you'regetting enough sleep, you should wake up naturally without analarm. If you need an alarm clock to wake up on time, you may needto set an earlier bedtime. As with your bedtime, try to maintainyour regular wake-time even on weekends. . Nap to make up for lost sleep. If you need tomake up for a few lost hours, opt for a daytime nap rather thansleeping late. This strategy allows you to pay off your sleep debtwithout disturbing your natural sleep-wake rhythm, which oftenbackfires in insomnia and throws you off for days. . Be smart about napping. While taking a nap canbe a great way to recharge, especially for older adults, it canmake insomnia worse. If insomnia is a problem for you, considereliminating napping. If you must nap, do it in the early afternoon, and limit it to thirty minutes. . Fight after-dinner drowsiness. If you findyourself getting sleepy way before your bedtime, get off the couchand do something mildly stimulating to avoid falling asleep, suchas washing the dishes, calling a friend, or getting clothes readyfor the next day. If you give in to the drowsiness, you may wake uplater in the night and have trouble getting back to sleep. . Remove your sunglasses in the morning and letlight onto your face. . Spend more time outside during daylight. Tryto take your work breaks outside in sunlight, exercise outside, orwalk your dog during the day instead of at night. . Let as much light into your home/workspace aspossible. Keep curtains and blinds open during the day,and try to move your desk closer to the window. . If necessary, use a light therapy box. A lighttherapy box can simulate sunshine and can be especially usefulduring short winter days when there's limited daylight. . Turn off your television and computer. Manypeople use the television to fall asleep or relax at the end of theday, and this is a mistake. Not only does the light suppressmelatonin production, but television can actually stimulate themind, rather than relaxing it. Try listening to music or audiobooks instead, or practicing relaxation exercises. If your favoriteTV show is on late at night, record it for viewing earlier in theday. . Don't read from a backlit device at night (such as aniPad). If you use a portable electronic device to read, use an eReader that is not backlit, i.e. one that requires anadditional light source such as a bedside lamp. . Change your bright light bulbs. Avoid brightlights before bed, use low-wattage bulbs instead. . When it's time to sleep, make sure the room isdark. The darker it is, the better you'll sleep. Coverelectrical displays, use heavy curtains or shades to block lightfrom windows, or try a sleep mask to cover your eyes. . Use a flashlight to go to the bathroom atnight. If you wake up during the night to use thebathroom-as long as it's safe to do so-keep the light to a minimumso it will be easier to go back to sleep. . Keep noise down. If you can't avoid oreliminate noise from barking dogs, loud neighbors, city traffic, orother people in your household, try masking it with a fan, recordings of soothing sounds, or white noise. You can buy aspecial sound machine or generate your own white noise by settingyour radio between stations. Earplugs may also help. . Keep your room cool. The temperature of yourbedroom also affects sleep. Most people sleep best in a slightlycool room (around 65° F or 18° C) with adequate ventilation. Abedroom that is too hot or too cold can interfere with qualitysleep. . Make sure your bed is comfortable. You shouldhave enough room to stretch and turn comfortably. If you often wakeup with a sore back or an aching neck, you may need to invest in anew mattress or a try a different pillow. Experiment with differentlevels of mattress firmness, foam or egg crate toppers, and pillowsthat provide more or less support. ( Full Answer )
