The Axis nations were divided. Japan was separated from Germany and Italy. They could not help each other. They were incapable of joint operations. Germany had a number of allies in Europe. England and the United States had a number of allies. Germany's allies could not understand Germany. England's allies understood and spoke English. They could communicate. As the war progressed, long range bombers destroyed the factories of the Axis nations hurting their ability to make war materiel. No bombs destroyed the factories in America or the Urals of Russia. They kept producing more and more guns, planes, ships, and bombs.

You can finish the game by taking over 25 - 40 nations, depending on what game type you play on. Long campaign is 40 regions. Once you finish the game you have a choice to start again or conquer everything by continuing.
It depends, if you know how to play the game very well you could finish it in quickly. But if your are bad at the game it could take you 1000 tries. If you use an action replay you could finish it quicker. (Use at your own risk)
