as is the case with typing speed, it is all dependent on the context. Words vary in length, readers ( aloud here) in pace and there are times when a story lags and deliberately is dragged out, not accelerated, yet plot can develop here a leisurely walk in the park might unearth clues, for example, it is too vague a question to answer with any sort of one-shot definitive answer.
Homework is a choice - Not necessary. It's existence, at least in our present time is made to prepare us for quiz(es), tests, responsibilities in your future, etc. Too much homework should not be a problem because all of it is not meant to be done. Put yourself in a scenario where you're very confident about you getting an A on your math test. Your teacher might say "i suggest you do your homework, or things mind end up bad for you.". Keep in mind this is a suggestion, since you're confident you'll get an A, you doing your homework would be a waste of time. In some cases your teacher will force you to do it and that's different, that's more of an assignment. Being not as confident when it comes to your test, doing schoolwork on your spare time, aka homework is usually the best thing. This leaves us the question - Do we have too much homework? Well, the answer is simple. - Are you confident that you'll get the mark you want? Skip it, if you want to save time. - Not as confident? Study. - Want a high mark? Study. Simple as that. If we'd compile all this, it would suggest that I'm saying people that does not do that well in school need to do all their homework, which might be true, but doing more in school builds in our sub-conscious just as well as homework, so more in school equals less to do at home. Just to make sure I'm not the leading cause of students not doing their homework
