It can be detected in the human hair for 6 weeks after you use it.

I feel like i must expand on this a little. THC, (the metabolite actually tested for) stores in your fat cells. When those fat cell break down you get rid of them through urination and can produce positive results for up to 3 months from the last time you smoked, depending on if you are losing weight or not. Hair testing gives a 90 day window. Saliva and blood testing are almost not worth the time and money that a company or lab would spend as they are only good for 2-4 hours from the time you smoked. There are a lot of people that have probation revoked because they lose weight during their probation and drug tests pop positive on them. I work in a forensic lab and this happens quit a bit. So take it for what it is worth, a habitual user could produce positive results for THC in urine testing for up to 3 months.

This questions and it alternates really refer to how long weed remains detectable by a drugs test.

The concentration of drugs in your system reduces slowly over time. Obviously that concentration is directly related to how much you have taken.

If you have taken one hit it still takes the same amount of time to clear the system completely. Though the concentration is lower and may be undetectable by a drugs test.

It is impossible to say how long a small amount (a couple of hits) will stay detectable with any given person as we do not know your lifestyle or other habits. If you are going to take weed (or any other drug) prepare to be caught.

Answer 2. - I am a frequent user(daily) of pot, and have taken several urine drug screenings. For my system it has taken exactly 10 days in which I have to drink plenty of water and have passed drug tests. However it depends how much you have smoked. Another instance I thought I wasn't going to get a job that required a urine screening, after a week and a half or so of not smoking, I decided to smoke some herbs (3-4 hits), then the next day I was called for the job and the drug test and I did pass.

But here's a story of a friend who was a dealer and he smoked all day/everday for years. He had a drug screen after being clean for I think a few months and he did not pass.

So if you smoke only once in a while (maybe once a week/month), you will be clean the next day. But if you smoke heavily for long peroids (months to years) it can take weeks to months to get it out of your system.

Short Answer, any where from hours to months depending on how much you smoke and if you are skinny or fat.

Footnote (I am of slim build and my friend was a little overweight so these are factors).
