From experience with my local methadone clinic; phenobarbital can stay in your system for 30 days. I took a prescribed medication called GI cocktail after a trip to the ER one Saturday morning. Upon given a toxicology screening, the results came back positive for barbituates. After having 2 other screenings, they each came back positive for barbituates. Those of you who have had experiences with meth clinics know what a problem this can be trying to convince the doctor that you havent been dipping into other barbituates. After talking to my pharmacist, he states, without a doubt, phenobarbital can stay in your system for 30 days from a urine screening, 6 months from blood screening and up to a year from a hair folicle screening. Also, if you're a DIABETIC, as I am, it can stay in your system for an extra 7 to 14 days, depending on your body and if you're actively having high blood sugar. (being a diabetic and having high blood sugar is a whole different story. This will show positive for alcohol). I hope this helps someone.
