How has departmentalization been established at Nestle?
You might have been confused gum for taffy. The mantle is like taffy/gum because it is supposedly runny. (well, I guess I would be HOT taffy)
No, Hershey does not own Nestle. Thought there has been talk in the past about the companies buying each other out this has yet to happen.
Salt water taffy derived its name from a flooding accident in Atlantic City in the late 19th century. The term "salt water" is believed to have been used to describe the process of making the taffy using salt water from the ocean.
Nestle has a few strengths. These strengths are, a brand name with a good reputation, candy is sold in about 100 countries, and has been purchasing other companies. A weakness of Nestle is that they have a hard time with the quality of their food and they are not eco-friendly.
Taffy is believed to have been invented in the United States. It originated in the late 19th century and became popular in seaside towns along the East Coast, particularly in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Saltwater candy was coined in Atlantic City, NJ, by a candy store owner in 1883. His shop was flooded during a major storm that year, and the candy was ruined by flood water. A girl came in and asked for taffy, and jokingly, he told her he had "salt water taffy." Even though it was a joke, she was excited at the idea of something new, and bought it. Since then, that style of taffy has been trademarked as such.
Taffy Wallace has: Played Circulating Nurse 1993 in "Breast Men" in 1997. Played Taffy in "Brimstone" in 1998. Played Nurse Sophie in "The Last Tzaddik" in 1998. Played Kittye in "Ladies Room" in 1999. Played Night Nurse in "The Last Dance" in 2000. Played Coach in "Single Santa Seeks Mrs. Claus" in 2004.
Salt water taffy is called as such because it traditionally includes both salt and water in its ingredients. The name could also have originated from the process of making the candy near the ocean, where salty ocean water may have inadvertently been used in the recipe.
