The original, Alan Scott is from 1940 and Hal jordon is from the late 50s and guy gardner is from the late 60s and Jon Stewart (not related to the tv guy) is from the 70s and klye Rayer is from the nineties.

∙ 12y agoGreen Lantern is the name of the bearer of the Green Ring, so the Green Lantern's character "was made" each time a new host adopted the name.
However, the first appearance of Green Lantern was in DC Comic's "All-American Comics #16", July 1940, created by Martin Nodell (Mart Dellon) and Bill Finger.
The identity of the original Green Lantern is Alan Scott: an engineer who had come into possession of a magic lantern. From this, he crafted a magic ring which gave him a wide variety of powers. The limitations of the ring were that it had to be "charged" every 24 hours by touching it to the lantern for a time, and that it did not work on wood.
This is quite different from the more current Green Lantern, in which he is part of the Lantern Society, an intergalactic group of heroes who each have a Ring, of varying colors. Today's Green Lantern's weakness is yellow objects.

∙ 11y agoDC's website says Hal Jordan and Guy Gardner are 6 feet tall, John Stewart is 6'1", and Kyle Rayner and Alan Scott are 5'11".
However, the most recent "Green Lantern Secret Files and Origins" pegged Hal as 6'2", which I think is more accurate, as he's always been taller than the 5'11" Green Arrow and is able to look legit 6'2" Batman in the eye in "GL: Rebirth." He's 6'1" minimum.
Kyle looked taller and bulkier than 5'11", 175 in his first appearances, but Hal TOWERED over him in GL #0 and most of his other Parallax appearances, and had a good 2 inches on him in "Rebirth." Kyle's definitely 5'11".
John and Guy are what they are-- 6'1" and 6' respectively.
Alan Scott, however, is another story. In most JSA stories, he's depicted as a looming figure, and it's not just the high collar. He's consistently shown as being significantly taller than Jay Garrick, who is himself about 6'. I'd put Alan at 6'3"-6'4", to be honest. He's usually depicted as tall as Superman, who is 6'3"-6'4", although he is a lot leaner.
