Well, it depends on how fast each of the 40 people read, and then it also depends on whether they are all reading different copies, or if some of them are sharing a copy.

Best case, they each read quickly and can read it in about 4 hours, and they all have separate copies. If they all start reading at the same time, and it happens on a weekend when they are all free, in the morning, not right before bedtime (so they don't have to sleep during the 4 hour stretch) they will all be done in 4 hours.

Worst case, it is a big group of people who are all sharing one copy, and they don't read very fast and have to work and sleep a lot, and they all have other things that interfere somewhat, so it takes them each two weeks to read it. That would be 80 weeks, or a little over a year and a half.
