How long is the flight from England to France?

Its not technically possible to fly commercially from the UK to Chamonix France (and you would need to do the last stint by helicopter to achieve that!). However the nearest commercial airport is Geneva, which is about a 1 hour drive away by car. There are regular passenger flights between the UK and Geneva, a typical flight from London would take about an hour in the air - plus all the boarding time etc. Other airports near Chamonix include Lyon, Grenoble, and Chambery, however transfers are virtually impossible to arrange - you would need to rent a car.
